The Jazz intent to interview Heat assistant Chris Quinn for their head-coaching opening, per Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN.

Quinn has been an assistant under Erik Speolstra in Miami for eight seasons. Before that, he served as a reserve point guard both in the NBA and overseas, with his final NBA season coming in 2013 with the Cavaliers.

Quinn joins a long list of candidates that includes former Lakers coach Frank Vogel, former Trail Blazers coach Terry Stotts, and Jazz assistants Alex Jensen and Lamar Skeeter. (You can view the full story on Utah interviewees here.)

Heat center/forward Udonis Haslem had high praise for Quinn this past March.

“When you listen to Quinny, you’re hearing Spo. It’s the same message.” Haslem told reporters. “He has the knowledge, the experience, the relationship with the players. He has every base covered when you talk about checking the boxes to have the ability to be a successful head coach.”

The Jazz are looking to replace Quin Snyder, who stepped down after eight seasons.
