Former star tips Tottenham to sign 16-goal ace in a part exchange deal

Tottenham Hotspur have been linked with the move for the Genoa striker Albert Gudmundsson.

The 26-year-old has been in impressive form this season and he has 16 goals in all competitions for the Italian club. Tottenham have an amicable relationship with Genoa, having negotiated a deal for Radu Dragusin and Djed Spence recently.

It will be interesting to see if they can secure an agreement for the Icelandic attacker as well.

Spence is currently on loan at the Italian club and he does not have a long-term future at Tottenham. The 23-year-old needs to leave the London club permanently and joining Genoa would be ideal for all parties.

He has impressed with his performance at the Italian club, and it will be interesting to see if the clubs can work out a deal that benefits them both.

When asked whether Tottenham could use the defender in a deal for Gudmundsson, former Tottenham player Alan Hutton suggested that Daniel Levy could certainly pull off something like that, given his track record and expertise.

It will be interesting to see how the situation develops.

Hutton said on TottenhamHotspurNews: “I think Ange Postecoglou will have a big say on it and how he sees Djed Spence’s future moving forward at the club. It’s been a difficult one for him, we’ve spoken about it many times and I do actually like him as a player.

“I’m not sure he can play in that position as an attacking full-back going into the number 10 role but the manager will know for sure. If they’re looking for somebody else in a different position and they can use him to get that deal over the line, then I’m sure that’s something they’ll look at.

“Daniel Levy is very good when it comes to those sort of deals and making things happen so I think there will be a lot on the table for them to look at and then decide what they’re going to do.”

It is no secret that Tottenham need a striker who can lead the line for them. Son Heung-min and Richarlison have done well this season but Ange Postecoglou needs a reliable finisher who can fill the void left by Harry Kane.

The 26-year-old Icelandic International certainly fits a profile and he will be excited to join a Premier League club this summer. He has shown his quality in the Italian league and he is certainly good enough for English football as well. He could transform Tottenham in the final third and help them push for trophies next season.
